Pair of Hans-Agne Jakobsson 'Balloon' Floor Lamp, Markaryd, Sweden, 1960s
The metal structure is made of polished brass. The large round shades are upholstered with the original fabric with beautifully coloured floral motives. The original fabric is in near mint condition which is very rare.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009) was designing in the golden age of Scandinavian design. Swedish interior decorator and furniture designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson is best remembered for his softly glowing, glare-free lighting fixtures, which were inspired by the "organic modern" approaches of Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen and Finnish icon Alvar Aalto.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
