About the Item

Pair of large gilt bronze and malachite neoclassical style candelabra French, 20th century Measures: Height 122cm, diameter 60cm This large pair of neoclassical style candelabra is wrought from malachite and gilt bronze. Each candelabrum supports thirteen gilt bronze light branches, each branch ornately scrolled and finished with foliate detailing. The thirteen branches spring from the malachite body, urn-form in shape, which in turn is raised by three curved legs above a tripartite base. Each leg is raised on a hoof foot and is mounted to the shoulder with an ormolu grotesque faun mask.
