Introducing a true American Modern masterpiece: a rare Post Modern floor lamp designed by the renowned Robert Sonneman for George Kovacs. Constructed from steel and painted flat white this exceptional floor lamp swivels up and down and in circular motions for precise spotlighting of any subject. The lamp features a high and low light setting via the single action switch located on the lamp head.
For six decades Robert Sonneman, founder of the eponymous world-renowned lighting design studio based in New York City, pioneered modern lighting. He revolutionized the way we illuminate residential and commercial spaces and his minimalist modern designs have pushed the boundaries of illumination within architectural and residential environments alike.
George Kovacs is perhaps the most famous and accomplished Modern lighting designer. A designer, manufacturer and importer of innovative and stylish modern lighting fixtures who introduced the ubiquitous halogen torchiere to the United States Mr. Kovacs not only made popular table lamps, floor lamps, hanging pendants and wall sconces, he also marketed the products of other acclaimed designers, including Ingo Maurer, Harry Allen, Karim Rashid, Robert Sonneman and Alecia Wesner.

This exceptional floor lamp is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection! The off-white finish shows only minor nicks which are too fine to be visible in our photos but showing no rust, tarnishing or deep scratches that have pierced the paint.
The head swivels in up and down and in a circular motion and the bulb and switch function exactly as they should with both high and low light options. Bulb included with lamp.
