A magnificent work of sculptural lighting, this "Alfea" torchiere floor lamp was designed by Enzo Ciampalini for Lamp International in Italy during the 1970s.[1] The lamp's commanding presence is defined by its sinuous, ribbon-like body crafted from patinated cast copper, which elegantly twists upwards from a solid cast stone base. This dramatic form culminates in a grand bowl-shaped shade made of Murano scavo glass, designed to cast a warm, ambient glow upwards, illuminating a room with soft, indirect light. A stunning example of Italian Postmodern design, this piece masterfully blends organic forms with substantial, artisanal materials.
Functioning as both a light source and a captivating piece of art, this floor lamp is a true statement piece.
