About the Item
This vintage floor lamp was made in France.
Its hand-forged iron construction features decorative wrought ironwork such as twists and scrollwork throughout.
The support rod rising from the tripod base is twisted in a spiral, and the triangular frame at the top holds a total of seven lights.
It is thought to have been originally used as a candle stand, modified to accommodate electric lighting.
The texture of the patinated iron and the partially visible brass parts give a sense of the depth of its age,
and when lit, it exudes a solemn atmosphere reminiscent of a church or theater.
This piece strikes a beautiful balance between architectural and decorative design.
