Striking mid-century flush mount with thick textured stained glass tiles in amber, smoke and clear tones, set in a heavy brass-finished steel frame. Brutalist glamour with a warm golden light effect. Italian, circa 1965. Three E14 sockets.
A dramatic Brutalist Glam creation from mid-century Italy, this flush mount is composed of thick, heavily textured stained glass tiles in amber, smoke and clear hues. The glass is hand-cut and individually framed in brass-finished steel strips, forming a stylised floral geometry with a domed silhouette.
When illuminated, the piece transforms with a radiant glow: the amber glass produces a deep golden light while the clear and smoke segments add shimmering highlights. Even unlit, the swirling relief of the glass creates beautiful reflections and a powerful sculptural presence.
Built with a heavy steel structure, weighing approximately 6 kilograms, this fixture has a substantial quality that sets it apart from lighter stained-glass designs. Three E14 sockets provide generous light output, making it ideal for a hallway, bedroom, dressing room or as statement lighting in hospitality environments. Can be mounted as a ceiling light or a large wall sconce.
Wonderful patina to the metal frame, showing oxidation consistent with age and the handmade production, which adds character and authenticity. A rare and decorative example of the Italian Brutalist aesthetic.
