his impressive and finely handcrafted lantern is a rare surviving example of late 19th-century Arts
Crafts design. Dating to the 1890s, the fixture combines honest materials with exceptional craftsmanship, resulting in a piece that is both decorative and enduring.
The lantern is crowned with a domed brass top, beneath which hangs a cylindrical body embellished with simple yet striking roundel decoration, a hallmark of the movement’s devotion to detail without excess. The metalwork displays the soft, natural patina that only more than a century of age can impart, deepening the character and authenticity of the piece.
What makes this pendant particularly special is the inclusion of its original antique opaline glass shade, whose softly diffused glow has lost none of its charm. When lit, the opaline glass radiates a warm and atmospheric light that transforms any interior, instantly evoking the rich ambiance of the Arts
