About the Item

This French 19th century iron and gilt-brass single-light lantern has been professionally rewired, now featuring a modern tube light which is a nice juxtaposition to the Neoclassical elements of the design. An acanthus-theme crown hides the junction where the chain meets the lid, a motif replicated in swags draped across the clear glass panes and descending from the base to end as an artichoke finial.
