About the Item
This impressive, large hallway lantern, crafted in the Arts and Crafts era around the 1920s in France, features a rare design made of brown and beige art glass combined with metal.
The lantern showcases an octagonal, hand-crafted, patinated metal frame and is adorned with scrolled foliate motifs on the sides.
The pendant lantern includes Tiffany-style art glass panels in shades of chocolate brown, beige, and soft cream.
These art glass panels display unique color combinations, textured surfaces, and a captivating depth. The colors shift and change when illuminated. Thanks to the handcrafted production process, the glass may exhibit fascinating surface irregularities, reminiscent of early 20th-century art glass techniques.
Dimensions: height: circa 80 cm / 59 in; diameter: circa 30 cm / 23.62 in. One new socket for an E27 (E26) size light bulb.
The pendant lantern is in good condition with slight signs of aging. The glass panels were replaced later.
The light fixture is in complete working order, but as with all vintage or antique lighting, we would always recommend it is tested and fitted by a qualified electrician.
