About the Item

This stunning pair of wall lanterns were made in France in the 1950s and display a richly decorative, classical look. . Made in an antique style with the original eglomise glass backs. A really elegant design with the curved glass fronts and finished with ornate decorative metalwork at both the top and bottom. The top crest showcases elaborate scrollwork and a stylized shell or plume motif—typical of French Rococo or Louis XV influences. The bottom finial mirrors this ornate, leafy design, adding symmetry and elegance. The metal trim around the glass is gently curved, softening the rectangular shape. As you can see, we've just added simple cream candles. The candles provide a warm, intimate glow, enhanced by the reflective, aged mirror finish. When not in use, the lanterns are great decorative pieces. The lanterns evoke a romantic, old-world ambiance—perfect for entryways, hallways, or atmospheric dining spaces. These lanterns are not wired. We can install electric bulb holders for any destination, if desired. Please get in touch for more information. They open and close with a latch on the side.
