Poul Henningsen Ph 4/3 Pendant
By Louis Poulsen, Poul Henningsen
Located in Berkeley, CA
The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of metal and painted white to ensure uniform, comfortable light distribution. Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system during 1925/1926. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. His work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Toldbod Pendant
By Louis Poulsen
Located in Berkeley, CA
The pendant emits soft downwards directed light. The matte, white-painted inside of the elliptical shade helps to assure even distribution of the light. The Louis Poulsen design team developed the Toldbod family based on the light distribution of the PH Ellipse reflector: the last street light concept by Poul Henningsen. The first introduction was the Toldbod 290 outdoor family in 1982. Following its success, the Toldbod glass indoor pendants were launched. The metal pendants were added later and complemented by the four larger editions in 2019. The Toldbod pendant...
