Pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1950s, made of brass and solid opaline glass, exemplifying the refined elegance of Mid-Century Modern and Italian modernist design. The overall composition is balanced and sculptural, combining clean architectural lines with softly contoured forms.
Each sconce features a gently flared, truncated-cone opaline glass shade, secured by small dark metal finials. The diffuser rests on a tapered blackened metal cone, creating a strong vertical accent while visually grounding the glass element. Slender metal rods connect the shade to the arm, adding lightness and a subtle graphic rhythm to the structure.
The curved brass arm extends gracefully from a circular wall plate measuring 10 cm in diameter (approximately 3.9 inches), emphasizing fluid movement and visual harmony. The warm patina of the brass contrasts elegantly with the matte black metal details, while the opaline glass provides a soft, even, and atmospheric light diffusion.
