About the Item
A distinctive pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1960s, characterized by a bold and architectural mid-century modern design. Each sconce features a cylindrical brass wall mount combined with a black-enamelled brass arm, supporting a layered glass shade composed of a lower cylindrical element and an upper domed diffuser.
The wall plate measures 12 × 5 cm (approximately 4.72 × 1.97 inches), offering a compact yet visually solid presence on the wall. The shade is made of partially frosted glass with a softly milky appearance, allowing light to pass through in a warm and diffused manner while maintaining a subtle translucency.
The contrast between the warm brass surfaces, the black-enamelled metal structure, and the softly diffusing glass creates a strong graphic presence without appearing heavy. When illuminated, the sconces produce an even and atmospheric glow, suitable for both accent and ambient lighting.
The sconces are fitted with standard E14 sockets and are compatible with European, US, and Canadian electrical systems.
