About the Item
Wooden sconces hand-crafted and hand-carved in Italy in the mid 1800s. The sconces are crafted following the Rococo style and are decorated with gold leaf and a mirror at the center. Each sconce has two arms with two capitals that were originally used to hold candles but can be easily adapted for modern lightbulbs.
The sconces are quite large and have beautiful patina accumulated over the gold leaf. The edges and the crest are decorated with beautiful hand-carved flowers and leaves. The mirrors were replaced at some point with non-reflective ones, which may actually help a lot with reducing glare from light, while still maintaining the decorative look initially intended for these light fixtures.
The sconces are still in fantastic shape and will be great accent pieces and decoration wherever they will be placed.
