About the Item

Magnificent figural Sconce in Murano glass, quite unique and a proper work of art on its own, representing a branch with 2 birds, 2 butterflies and several different styles of flowers, all are hand sculpted with 24k gold leaf or dust applied and with a Scavo finish characterisc of the works done by Seguso and Martinuzi. Everything about this sconce shows workmanship of the 1920s to 1940s, we can't be more accurate about the age as the pane to which the individual flowers, birds and butterflies are attached is plexiglass which wasn't invented until 1933 and is also in too good a condition to be older than 1960s, this could've been replaced at some point but we sourced it as it is now. Takes two e 27 bulbs and has recently been rewired.
