About the Item
A collaboration between FurthurDesign's William Couig and artist Beth Dary, the Cosmic Sconce design has all the alluring attributes of the Celestial Chandelier but for wall installation. Combining clear spheres atop blue again achieves a field of depth that is further enhanced by the bubbled finish. The custom champagne finish on the hardware is prominently featured on the 5” wall plate for the sconce and matches the handcarved brass cross bars used to tether the finial to the main cluster with wire cable. Each light is furnished with an led bulb that perfectly compliments the bubbled finish of the glass and champagne tone of the hardware. Pieces are handmade in downtown Brooklyn by Beth, Bill and their team at the UrbanGlass studio.

FurthurDesign is a line of modern glass objects and lighting handmade by William Couig in Brooklyn, NY. The work has an aesthetic steeped in the 70's vision of future that William was raised on in film and popular culture. Created using traditional Venetian techniques, the FurthurDesign line utilizes the natural attributes and tendencies of glass to create logical design concepts. While each grouping has machine-made qualities, they have distinctly hand blown features and an organic appeal.
