About the Item

A precious gilt bronze two-light wall sconce in the Empire style, France, 1920-1929. Finely elaborate with hand chiseled details. Typical design of French Empire period due to its rich ornamentation with faces and acanthus leaf motifs. The bottom is characterized by a man head supporting a pedestal with the lamp-arms. Two scroll light-arms with floral motifs connecting to the middle with acanthus leaves, at the bottom a pine finial. Two-light with candle covers and beautiful chandelier-shades. It takes two E14 candelabra screw bulbs. In perfect condition, aged patina to bronze, polished and rewired. The lamp shades are new. Measures without shades: Height 20" / With 14.25" / Depth 8.75" (51 cm x 36 cm x 22 cm) Measures with shades: Height 20.50" / With 15.75" / Depth 9.50" (52 cm x 40 cm x 24 cm) Weight: 11 lbs.
