Huge American Art Deco/Modernist Glass Rod Wall Sconces

One of the perks of being in this otherwise lunatic antiques business is that if you've been around long enough, someone's going to come into your store and say, "Hey, I've got (fill in the blank)... do you have any interest in that?" And that is exactly what happened in this instance. The funny thing was that the guy who brought them to my store had been storing them for at least 25 years!! Well, I don't REALLY need to say what a rare thing we're looking at here, do I? I mean, when is the last time you saw a set of glass tube American Art Moderne/Deco wall sconces that are nearly FORTY-TWO inches top to bottom!!?? I mean, did these come from a freaking Art Deco building lobby?! I should have asked the guy who sold them to me; maybe they came from the Empire State Building! The glass is the totally coolest, of course, being comprised of solid glass rods 41 1/2 inches long themselves. They're in perfect condition, and we know they're all original because they have very little green color in them. They're about 1/2 inch in diameter.
