About the Item
A rare 1970s Italian sconce by Stilux, formed from interlocking arcs of tubular chromed steel. Each sweeping curve holds a single exposed bulb, pivoting 45 degrees left or right to let the light shift and play. When lit, the chrome catches and amplifies the glow, tracing light along its sculptural loops.
Founded in Milan in 1946, Stilux was known for refined modernist lighting, combining minimalist lines with inventive materials such as plexiglass and metal. Many designs incorporated adjustable features and innovative lighting technologies.
Sold and priced individually.
Condition: Great vintage condition. Patination, oxidation, and surface wear throughout, consistent with age and use. This sconce has been professionally rewired by our team of restorationists with new sockets. Accepts two E12 light bulbs.
