About the Item
A rare pair of hand sconces by Jean Marais, originally part of his ceramic line, this version in bronze is never seen. It is said the inspiration for the model came from his movie “Belle
La Bête” where lights thought the castle are held by real live arms coming through the walls, it is also thought that one hand is his while the other is his lifelong partner's Jean Cocteau as they have a different size. Large Scale. Signed to the back of the stem "Jean Marais"
