About the Item

Produced in Italy during the 1950s, this large wall-mounted light centres on a circular brass backplate—10 cm (3.94 in) in diameter—from which a bent brass arm descends in a shallow U-shape and meets a black-lacquered steel brace that cradles a hand-blown opaline glass shade tapered to a narrow base. When illuminated, the glass shows a subtle warm gradient, while unlit it appears uniformly white. The sconce is fitted with a standard E14 socket rated for 110–240 V, making it compatible with electrical systems in both Europe and the United States. The brass surfaces retain an even age-related patina, the black lacquer displays minor wear, and the shade is free of chips or cracks; the electrical components are original and fully functional, yielding very good overall condition.
