Pair of Louis XVI Style Ormolu Two‑Light Sconces, Attributed to P.E. Guerin, 20th Century
A finely cast and chased pair of Louis XVI style gilt‑bronze (ormolu) two‑light wall sconces, attributed to the esteemed New York foundry P.E. Guerin, known for its exceptional craftsmanship since 1857. Each sconce features a ribbon‑tied crest surmounting a bouquet of laurel and berry branches, descending to scrolling candle arms adorned with acanthus leaf and budding floral motifs. The central stem is wrapped with a naturalistic laurel twist ending in a berried finial.
The backplate measures 4.5" in diameter, surrounded by a delicately tooled edge. The sconces retain their warm, lustrous gilding with rich highlights and subtle patination. Wiring appears to be older and should be checked or replaced prior to use; the sconces can also be easily adapted for candle use.

Very good vintage condition. Minor surface wear and light oxidation consistent with age; gilding is bright and intact.
