About the Item

White blown Murano glass table lamps with transparent ground lenses - larger version (33 d x 18h) - , designed by Carlo Nason for A.V. Mazzega. Year 1970 ca. These are lamps from a stock fund and therefore in like-new condition. Carlo Nason (b. 1935, Murano, Venice) is an Italian designer and master glassmaker, known for his Murano glass works and for designing lamps and furnishings with a strong aesthetic and craftsmanship value. Coming from a family with a long tradition of glassmaking, Nason has been able to fuse ancient Murano craftsmanship with a modern and elegant language. Throughout his career he has engaged in collaborations with numerous companies, including one of the longest-lasting and most fruitful with A.V. Mazzega, 1958 to 1980. During this period he designed lamps that have become true icons of Italian design. His works are distinguished by a balance of form, light, and color, but also by constant technical experimentation, which has led him to explore new forms and processing of glass, combining innovation and tradition.
