Pair of 1960s Carl Thore Perforated Black and Brass Wall Lamps.
Executed in black painted perforated metal with white-painted interior and brass hardware, this wall lamp is highly characteristic of quintessential Swedish design of the midcentury era. Unmarked.
Sigurd 'Carl Thore' Lindkvist worked for the lighting firm Luko, before joining Granhaga Metallindustri AB as Head of Sales and Lighting Design. He adopted the pseudonym 'Carl Thore' when he was presenting his lights to a client, not wanting to reveal to the customer his identity as a designer. The lights were labeled ‘Carl Thore Design’ from that point forward.
Price is per pair. 3 lamps available. Also available individually in a separate listing.
Each lamp accommodates 1x 60W max equivalent standard medium base (e26) LED bulb (LED only, not included). Professionally rewired for US electrical with new period-style brass backplate. Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Contact us to facilitate.
Some age appropriate scuffs, dings, nicks, patina, and wear as largely shown and noted only for accuracy. Please note that only one representative example appears in the photos. Some variation between lamps, but all lamps in comparably good condition and present well as a set. More images available upon request.
