About the Item

An outstanding pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. patinated bronze and ormolu sconces. Each four arm sconce is centered by a richly chased ormolu acanthus leaf backplate from where the charming and finely detailed patinated bronze cherubs extend outwards seemingly holding up the arms above. Three of the arms display a beautiful scrolled design adorned with palmettes and acanthus leaves leading to elegant candle cups and centering the impressive single arm with a Fine tapered fluted design and a stunning frosted flame finial. All original gilt and patina throughout.
