About the Item

This pair of wall sconces were made by the well known J.C. Virden Co. of the United States and date to approximately 1920 and done in the period Art Deco style. The wall mounting brackets are done in a cast metal with a bronze patination, and the slip shades are done with pressed glass with a deep cream reverse painted finish. Each sconce has a turn on/off knob at the bottom which appear to function as intended, but have not been tested. The sconces are each signed on the back with a maker's signature for the J.C. Virden Co.
