About the Item
A pair of unusual and highly decorative Candle Sconces. 19th century repose` with later wood hand-painted stenciled and ebonized backplate. The sconces with hinged and swinging "bird cage" like adornments that hold a single candle. Once held glass inserts of which a few of the stabilizing wire hooks still remain.
Dimensions: Backplate measures 17 3/4" high, 8" wide with 9" protrusion.
Condition: one bracket is detached on the sconce, minor verdigris deposits. Please see detail photos for condition.
