funky pair of vintage wall sconces/ lanterns. Their design is a beautiful blend of period styles, featuring a captivating, highly unusual profile with a distinctively crenellated or "jagged" top and bottom border.
The most compelling feature is the rich, and artistically achieved verdigris patina, reminiscent of aged copper or bronze. This deep, mottled green and turquoise finish provides a gorgeous contrast to the clear glass panels.
Triangular Profile When viewed from the side, the lanterns have a dramatic, deep-profile triangular or trapezoidal shape. When mounted, this creates an impressive three-dimensional shadow effect.
Rectangular Profile When viewed straight-on, the lanterns present a classic rectangular lantern shape with the scalloped/crenellated edges.
Each sconce is fitted with one single brass candelabra
the style of these lanterns suggests an influence from the Gothic Revival, Arts and Crafts, or Mediterranean Revival architectural movements of the early to mid-20th century. They would be perfect for a historic home restoration, a rustic-chic interior, or as dramatic exterior lighting.
