About the Item
This pair of wall lamps were designed by Mauri Almari. Though lesser known internationally, Almari was a significant figure in Finnish mid-century lighting design, contributing to a wave of modernism that balanced simplicity with warmth.
By the 1950s, Finland had established itself as a force for innovation in design. The best qualities of Finnish light fixtures are their atmospheric light and disciplined, functionalist design. This "71032" model is all about its brass structure, featuring sleek cylindrical bodies capped with polished brass on both ends. Their minimal, symmetrical form speaks to a distinctly Nordic approach to lighting. The soft diffusion of light from either end of the cylinder creates a warm ambient glow, ideal for hallways or accent lighting.
