About the Item
A stunning and large scale pair of Italian 18th century Baroque st. patinated Wood and Giltwood sconces. Each intricately detailed Bras de Lumière sconce is supported on a wonderfully detailed shield shaped patinated brown backplate displaying scrolled Giltwood designs set within a mottled Giltwood frame. The arms showcase sweeping scrolls and inner spiral volutes while adorned with impressive Giltwood acanthus leaves continuing down the patinated brown arms accented with Giltwood carved patterns. Each candle cup is proudly presented on a scrolled acanthus leaf, while displaying a patinated background and Giltwood bands below the pierced Metal candle guard. The candles are held by the original Iron spikes at the center of the candle cup.
