About the Item
This pair of wall lamps is a real gem! It's so rare to find these in such an early style. The lamps were probably made in southern Germany around 1770-1790 in the French Louis XVI style. These lovely wall lamps were originally designed for candles, but around 1900, they were lovingly converted to electric lights. According to tradition, these lamps come from a hunting lodge. You can see an inventory number added around the 1940s on the back. The carving is truly masterful and unparalleled, and it depicts hunting scenes. The wood has aged naturally, developing a beautiful, authentic patina. Unfortunately, we're not exactly sure where the lodge came from because its history hasn't been documented. The lamps use E14 bulbs, and we've included adapters for E12 to make it easy for you to use them in the American market. These are gently screwed into the E14 socket, so you can use those lovely standard E12 chandelier bulbs. We're so excited for you to experience this exclusive pair of wall lamps.
