About the Item

Pair of wall lights, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson, manufactured by Ab Markaryd, 1960s. Brass. Marked. Good vintage condition, minor wear consistent with age and use. The wall lights are sold as a set. Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009) was a Swedish furniture and interior designer who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was particularly known for his unique lighting, which was characterised by soft, glare-free light and an organic artistic style. Jakobsson's work was inspired by Alvar Aalto and the Danish lighting design master Poul Henningsen, among others.
