About the Item
Two pairs of sculptural and rare “Denebe” wall sconces by Poliarte, Italy, 1970s. This collectible fixture showcases the studio’s signature use of hand-crafted glass blocks, arranged in a geometric grid that emphasizes texture, depth, and light refraction.
Each thick, cast-glass module contains distinctive internal bubbles and optical distortions, creating a jewel-like effect when illuminated. The glass elements are mounted on a brushed metal structure, keeping the form clean and architectural while allowing the glass to take center stage.

Poliarte was an Italian lighting studio founded in Verona in 1968, celebrated for transforming glass into sculptural lighting. Using hand-cut, cast, or block glass elements, Poliarte created geometric, architectural fixtures that blurred the line between art and function. Their designs often feature textured glass with internal bubbles, refracting light into luminous patterns. Produced in small batches, Poliarte pieces are highly collectible today and are recognized for their strong material presence, experimental craftsmanship, and bold 1970s Italian modernist aesthetic.
