About the Item
Classic French elegance. A refined pair of early 1900s French molded bronze wall sconces, sourced in France and designed in the Neoclassical / Louis XVI revival style. Each sconce features an urn-form finial, decorative foliate motifs, and two elegantly curved arms with original candle cups, allowing them to be used immediately for candlelight. They were originally created to be hard-wired, and discreet openings remain for passing electrical wire, though they are not currently electrified.
The sconces retain their original, unpolished patina, contributing to their authentic antique character. They show minor wear and areas of green oxidation (see photos), consistent with age and material, but remain structurally sound and visually striking. There are no maker’s markings or other identifying stamps present.
