About the Item
A stunning pair of Light Sculpture Sconces created by Stephen White. Crafted from bent wood and paper and inspired by asian lanterns and the natural beauty of Alaska and Hawaii, these sconces transcend the practical light fixture and inspire us as sculptural illuminations.
Stamped with the artist mark in red ink, signed and dated (ink has faded to the point where we cannot determine if the sconces were created in 2003 or 2013).
Each sconce measures approximately 31" high, 17" wide and 12" deep. They currently have wall plugs attached but could be wired by your electrician to avoid the hanging cord.
Luminessence is the essence of light captured in handcrafted light sculptures of laminated paper and wood. Since 1964 this original art form has been evolving through the creative vision of artist Stephen White.
These works are designed for residential or commercial interiors where a unique artistic expression in lighting is desired. Each piece is signed and numbered signifying it as an original work of art.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. There is a small tear in the upper left lobe of the left sconce. There is some discoloration as can be expected with a natural paper product. At the tip of the lights there is slight separation between the paper and frame. See photos.
