Tetra Horizon stands as a luminous gesture of hope, reflecting Diaphan Studio’s desire to draw inspiration from the eternal rhythms of nature.
Rooted in the intricate beauty of crystallography, this sculptural lighting
piece displays two states, contrasting yet harmonious with one anothers:
the silent, austere composure of industrial brass profiles, and a luminous
spectacle that evokes dawn over quiet waters. A light painting made of
decorative patterns that extend beyond the physical, revealing the invisible
harmony governing the natural world.
Tetra Horizon was part of Dark Times, Bright Signs. “Times have been dark” more than once in history, and “the world has been falling apart” for centuries, countless times, generation after generation. Today, though, dystopia feels particularly realistic—certified, experienced electronically in real-time, and reinforced by scientific theories now accessible to all. Apocalyptic thinking not only surrounds us—it has become mainstream. Driven by this condition of hyperawareness, swept by waves of eco-anxiety, saturated by conflict and forced to face a rapidly-evolving reality—a new generation is developing new languages, perhaps forms of reworking, toward new balances, of hope. At the same time, though, the apocalyptic scenarios around us—or rather, upon us—cannot help but permeate our gaze, consciously or otherwise, shaping the creative language of today and the way we parse the world.

Diaphan Studio
Established in 2019, Diaphan Studio is an atelier founded by Alessandro Giacomelli and Dominique Wolniewicz, respectively a gemologist and a lighting designer. Their approach blends a deep exploration of light’s optical properties with a contemporary interpretation of crystalline structures, often imperceptible to the human eye.
Each creation is a sculpture made of light, casting delicate projections into its surroundings. More than objects, these luminous works transform spaces, allowing light to unfold in a mesmerizing symphony of color and form.
