About the Item

This minimalist Scandinavian wall lamp with a perforated metal shade was designed by Börge Lindau and Bo Lindekrantz for Zero Lighting. The company Zero was founded in Nybro, in southeast Sweden, by Roland Gill and Andris Nolendorf. They met the design duo Lindau Lindekrantz and commissioned them to develop new products – including innovative light fixtures made of perforated metal. The idea generated such excitement that it became the starting point for Zero. Until the mid-1980s, Lindau Lindekrantz were the company’s only designers. The duo also collaborated with Lammhults from the mid-1960s. The lamps are sold without cords and will need new wiring. Depending on preference, they can either be installed directly into the wall for connection to a switch, or fitted with a separate cord and inline switch for plug-in use. For the European market, the lamps are adapted for energy-saving bulbs. For the US and UK, they are rewired to meet local electrical standards.

Scandinavian Modern Signed Mirror by Erik Höglund for Eriksmåla, Kosta Boda, 1967. Those familiar with Höglunds glass design will recognize the same simplicity, humor and a fine sense of material that defines his works in glass. He liked utensils to be robust, and a bit quirky. Among all types of wood, he favored pine, which he thought was as good as the most popular wood in the 1960s- imported teak. Erik Höglund, the Swedish "le enfant terrible" (1932-1988), was both a painter, sculptor as well as an craftsman. He worked for Kosta Boda, Strömbergshyttan and Eriksmåla. He are known in Sweden for his popular colorful glass and provokative motivs. These wooden pained mirrors...
