About the Item
Brutalist wall sconce designed by Tom Ahlström and Hans Ehrlich for A&E Leuchte. Produced in Sweden during the 1960-70s, this fixture exemplifies the raw, expressive design language of the Nordic brutalist movement.
The structure features a heavy, hand-wrought cast iron frame with an organic, rough-textured finish. A thick, amber-hued Murano glass shade is embedded within the ironwork, acting as a focal point that diffuses light to create a warm, atmospheric glow. The tension between the industrial, rugged metal and the delicate, organic glass characterizes Ahlström
Ehrlich’s most sought-after work.
Excellent vintage condition. The iron retains its original dark patina, and the glass is free from cracks or chips. The fixture has been inspected and serviced by our team in Antwerp to ensure safe functionality while preserving its historical character.
