About Hjorth's Ceramic Workshop
Hjorth's Ceramic Workshop is one of the best-preserved industrial monuments in Scandinavia and has been located at the address Krystalgade 5 in Rønne on Bornholm, a small Danish island, since 1862. In the 1880s, Hjorth won international recognition. The Hjorth family ran the place until 1993, after which Bornholm's Museum took over the factory.
The turntable is the heart of the factory, and the entire factory's production comes through here. The turntable is completely original as it was in the 1860s, when Lauritz Hjorth founded the factory.

One of Hjorths Fabrik's biggest successes and Denmark's first real stoneware series is the grey-brown stoneware. It is available as vases, jars, dishes, stands, tea and coffee sets, lamps, buttons, brooches, door signs...
