About the Item

A pair of Italian carved walnut fragments from the 19th century depicting Solomonic columns wrapped with foliage and acanthus leaves, and made into modern US-wired table lamps on lucite bases. Created in Italy during the 19th century, each of this pair of fragments depicts a section of a Solomonic column adorned with foliage carved in low-relief, wrapping itself around the piece's sinuous lines. The lower section showcases large acanthus leaves that provide the perfectly conclusion to this elegant ensemble. The fragments have been recently transformed into table lamps that are wired for the US and are ready to be plugged. They were also mounted on circular lucite bases whose transparent quality complements the wood's dark brown patina beautifully. Boasting a nicely weathered appearance with slight imperfections, the lamps are measuring 25.75 inches of height to the top of their sockets. With their elegant lines and skillfully carved décor, this pair of 19th century Italian fragments made into modern lamps will make for a great addition to any home, perhaps displayed atop a console or a pair of bedside tables.
