Abat-jour Ercole Barovier
Rostered glass table lamp by Ercole Barovier.
Glass rostration is a special technique in which glass is pulled hot with tongs to form spikes.
This technique was invented and patented by Ercole Barovier who ascended to the helm of the family firm in the 1920s and remained there until his death in 1972.
The Barovier glassworks now called Barovier
Toso, sees its birth in the 13th century and is therefore the sixth oldest family business in the world still in operation.
The lamp is in working condition.
It is in good conservative condition, has as pictured some small breaks and missing spikes.
