About the Item
Mid-Century Modern desk lamp from the 1950s, is an example of functional modernist lighting. The lamp features a spun metal cone shade and matching base, both finished in a soft, original mint green (pastel) lacquer that evokes the optimism of the post-war era.
The shade is detailed with a characteristic rim of perforated vertical slits, which allows light to escape in a decorative pattern, adding warmth and visual interest to the piece even when illuminated.
