About the Item
White ceramic table lamp with serene pattern, a design by Anna-Lisa Thomson made at Uppsala Ekeby, Sweden, 1950. See historical photo showing the base of this lamp at the front of the image.
The shade is included, it's handmade, executed from a high end soft blue fabric with a golden interior.
Uppsala Ekeby was, next to Gustavsberg and Rörstrand, one of the three large porcelain factories in Sweden.
The factory was founded in 1886. The clay layers in Ekeby were very suitable for the production of tiles, many of these still adorn the walls of a number of Stockholm metro stations, later vases and bowls were produced designed by numerous artists as from the 1920's. Production run until 1978 when the production finally discontinued.
Uppsala Ekeby products won international awards, amongst Paris 1937 and New York 1939.

- Condition:Rewired: New electric wiring. New handmade lamp shade included. Wear consistent with age and use. Very good condition, some minor / smaller age related wear on the finish of the ceramic base (greyish sweeps). Only very small normal age related wear. Otherwise excellent all new electric wiring and shade.
