About the Item
This hand-thrown terracotta jar, originally produced in western Turkey near Izmir for storing freshly pressed olive oil, has been sensitively converted into a table lamp. Formed from coarse red clay, it bears the soft firing scars, mineral traces and matte surface texture characteristic of traditional Anatolian pottery.

Standing at approximately H 55 cm × W 40 cm, the piece carries a sculptural presence—its tall, rounded-handled silhouette subtly asserts itself within an interior. The conversion retains the original clay form while adding brass fittings, a 2 m antique-gold cable and a standard E27 lamp socket.

This terracotta lamp merges utilitarian origin and refined adaptation. The unglazed, earthen surface resonates with natural materials and aged textures, making it suitable for rustic-chic, Mediterranean-inspired or artisan-grounded interiors.
