About the Item

Stunning French Sevres style Soft Paste Porcelain and Ormolu with Twin Scrolling Handles ending with Acanthus Leaf detailling, Electric Table Lamp of traditional bulbous form and of outstanding quality, and good size proportions, raised on a lavish cast heavy gauge ormolu base. The central front hand painted reserve within a tube lined gilt surround depicting old fashioned Seashells with gilt high lights on a pale green ground, the back with similar decoration, on a white ground. This is quite a chunky and large example bigger than it looks in the images, please note the detailed dimensions Third quarter of the Nineteenth Century. Condition: Good condition for such early pieces with no losses to porcelain, bronze mounts have been professionally re-gold plated, no wear to gilding within porcelain areas. Professionally re-wired for electricity. Height: (entire as shown on image one including electrical top area an impressive) 19.5" (49.5cm). Width: (at widest bulbous area) 8" (20cm).
