About the Item
A pair of late 19th c. tea canisters adapted to table lamps each with 3 bulb sockets. With gold painted decorated black enameled metal, each rectangular canister is decorated with bugles and lyres framed by foliate band. Each has an issuing brass standard topped with a double-cluster socket, on an ebonized wood base and brass bun feet.
These are very smart lamps. Given their colour, size and shape, they could work well in a variety of settings.

Condition:
Good/Fair, consistent with age and use. There are scattered spots of enamel loss. There are a few nicks to wood base.
Both lamp bases have been expertly rewired using gold silk covered wiring with new bulb sockets. The metal canisters have been stabilized and re lacquered to retain their patina and painted detail.
