Alabaster domes of various diameters and tubular elements of different widths give dynamism to this exclusive piece while maintaining a perfect balance of style. Named Apollo in honour of the Greek god who pulled the chariot of the sun, the serie is inspired by this peculiarity; a metal structure pulls a series of luminescent half spheres.
After years of experience in the family business, which specializes in design and lighting, Riccardo and Alberto Ongarato found the brand Alabastro Italiano.
Each project is conceived and designed to give a strong sign of recognizability and uniqueness. The use of precious materials such as alabaster, brass, leather and blown glass, worked by the skilful hands of our craftsmen, are combined to create “timeless” objects.

The company has created an entirely new project MADE IN ITALY, revolutionizing the previously existing collections into eternal and evergreen lighting elements. Alabaster is a Material that leaves little traces of magic all around it. It is difficult to identify the exact point where the Material ends and its reflection begins. It is impossible to understand how far the light sinks in its soft transparency. It changes according to the positions in which it is placed, depending on the point of view. Alabaster is a compact and rare stone that lays down very precise laws requires a familiarity that only Italian craftsmen possess.
Alabastro Italiano collaborates with each client to create a unique project. Starting from the advice for better architectural lighting, it brings its know-how, materials, design and creative inspiration to interior architects and interior designers.

Large "Space Age" style table lamp by Gaetano Sciolari in chromed metal.
The lamp is on a mirrored chromed metal base, with 6 chromed metal spikes with bronze tops around a central shaft, giving the lamp a very elegant silhouette.
It is equipped with its original lampshade (some signs of use - see photos).
A typical creation by Sciolari in the 1970s - 1980s, this lamp is in excellent condition with particularly well-preserved chromed walls.
The electrification is original and has been revised.
Dimensions:
Total height 75 cm, height excluding lampshade 44 cm, base diameter 17 cm.
Lampshade 37.5 cm by 30 cm in diameter.
Gaetano Sciolari (1927 – 1994) is a designer, architect and above all an outstanding businessman, born in Italy in 1927. After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture, the young man returned to his first passion, cinema, and in particular filmmaking.
However, after the death of his father in 1949, Sciolari had no choice but to take over the family lighting production business. In just a few years, the designer transformed the company and propelled it onto the international scene.
Sciolari was not only a brilliant business leader, he was also a creative, prolific and talented designer. He worked for the great names of design like Stilnovo in Italy in the 1950s, Boulanger and Stilkronen.
Throughout his career, he designed beautiful and incredible lighting fixtures like the “Mod A5011” pendant (circa 1950), the “4079” floor lamp (1965) and of course the Cubic chandelier (1970s).
His creations are shaped in both shiny and matte metal, multi-lights, evoking futuristic visions of the emerging space age. In the 70s and 80s, his creations are in high demand.
