About the Item
A stunning example of Eric Kirkman Cole's Art Deco stylish table lamp in superb brown bakelite. A model designed in the 1930s and produced in European countries under license. This particular design carried on being manufactured up and until mid 1950's. The shade is mounted to a shoulder joint and can be adjusted in all directions, giving directional lighting as required. The curved swivel arm rests on a streamlined base with an individual on/off switch. Condition is very good with no damage such as cracks, fractures, chips or discolouration to the bakelite. The bakelite is a dark brown not black. Although wired for 240 volts a simple travel adaptor from Europe to US will mean the lamp can be used immediately without having to rewire. A timeless design that offers nostalgia and modern functional use.
