About the Item
A rare and beautifully preserved swing-arm desk lamp by LYFA, Denmark, dating from the late 1930s to early 1940s. This sculptural and highly functional design features LYFA’s signature articulated arm, allowing the lamp to pivot gracefully and cast light precisely where needed.
The lamp is crafted in solid brass, now aged to a warm, even patina that underscores its vintage character. A distinctive detail of this model is the turned wood handle at the end of the arm—shaped with fine, rhythmic grooves that provide both grip and visual refinement. Its natural finish contrasts subtly with the brass structure, adding warmth to the overall composition.
Its striking conical shade is handmade from oil paper in accordance with the original design. When lit, the shade creates a warm, atmospheric glow, highlighting the sculptural geometry of the form.
