About the Item

A distinctive 1960s resin table lamp evocative of Pierre Giraudon’s experimental material artistry. The lamp base features a suspended botanical arrangement—real dried flowers in vivid hues—encased within a block of crystal-clear resin. The scene is anchored visually by a single panel of opaque black resin, applied to the rear of the block to intensify contrast and heighten the illusion of depth, lending the composition a diorama-like quality. Handcrafted during the height of post-war material innovation, this lamp captures the spirit of Giraudon’s fascination with transparency and natural specimens. While unsigned, its sculptural clarity and playful sensibility make it a strong example of the style. The resin base stands 26 cm high and measures 9 cm wide by 7 cm deep. It is paired with a contemporary parchment lampshade—rounded rectangular in form—measuring 30 cm in width, 15 cm deep, and 15 cm high. The base appears to be in very good condition with minimal evidence of wear; the lampshade is a new replacement. The base retains original wiring; PAT or UL certification is advised before installation.
